I am a biomedical scientist with extensive executive leadership experience who provides coaching and organizational management advice to academic, government, and industry leaders, as well as future leaders. With over 35 years of experience, I mentored and coached biomedical scientists, academic faculty members, and government administrators. I have also worked with domestic and foreign universities, small businesses, and government agencies in the U.S., Canada, and Liberia.
I am a past Division Director and Scientific Executive at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. Previously, I was a Professor of Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine, and later, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
I believe that everyone has unique talents and strengths that can be leveraged and improved to achieve career success through professional and executive coaching. As a certified executive coach, I often work with professionals and executives in government, industry, and academia. I also coach those transitioning from academia to jobs in government or industry. My primary goal is to enhance the personal and professional growth in my clients. My coaching practice utilizes competencies set out by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and I adhere to the ICF’s code of ethics.
I received my Ph.D. degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Boston University School of Medicine and completed my post-doctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). I received my coaching certification from the ICF-accredited Center for Executive Coaching.
